Incredibly, good pinball is a rarity on iOS, so Pinball Ride deserves some real recognition, even if its not perfect. The table is very cool and has a lot of missions to play, and its well-designed enough that you wont feel you lose the ball for any cheap issues. Its also very fun and replayable.
Physics are good; it doesnt feel quite right, but neither does any other pinball app. The ball is a bit floaty at times and seems to lack a little weight off the medium-strength dropshots, but the tradeoff is that you can do some nice tricks, such as juggling flippers a bit, and I have not been able to do this with any other pinball app.
The online scorekeeping is good...really hoping for Game Center in an update though. I dont understand why no pinball apps support it. At least this has a nice score server though, and if I used Facebook I would probably love it. It is really encouraging that although the game has been out for a while, it has received a lot of updates and very strong developer support, so Im pretty sure that more improvements are in the pipeline and Im happy to support a game with that kind of track record.
Value for price is good if you are a pinball fanatic, in my opinion. Its hard to compete with many other games that offer lots of content for 99 cents, but if you like pinball youll find that most tables are very overpriced on the app store--this one is fairly priced for the quality and replayability.
